From a young age, Gail had a passion for creativity and education but during the 1930's, as a woman, pursuing a higher education was out of the question.  Despite all the struggle, Gail never gave up on her dreams to further her creative pursuits and at the age of 45, Gail attended college of the arts where she studied music, singing, art, drama, fashion design, interior design and bronze sculpting. Gail pursued a career in professional jazz singing and sang at popular jazz clubs in Hollywood.

Gail made Aliyah to Israel at age 86 and lived to the age of 91 to see many births of her great-grandchildren. Gail Jacobson passed at Hatzot of Yom Kippur 2021, in the arms of Shira, her granddaughter.

 

Gail Jacobson strongly believed in women's empowerment and the pursuit of music and the arts. In Gail Ruth's memory, may these masterclasses empower you to connect to your soul and express your G-d given talents while inspiring others to do the same.
